After a store on Danrong Road in Wandan Township was smashed, a gunfight broke out in Pingtung City in the early morning of the 17th, injuring five people. The police arrived at the scene and found a car with bullet holes all over the body and 26 bullet shells on the ground. The police cordoned off the scene to collect evidence and investigate.
Zhongtian News reported that the exact location of the gunfight was on the roadside of a car wash on Ruiguang Road in Pingtung City. The incident occurred at around 1 a.m. on the 17th. People nearby heard the gunshots and reported the case in a hurry. Five people were slightly injured at the scene.
When the police arrived after receiving the report, they found a car abandoned at the scene with bullet holes all over the body. 26 shells were also collected on the road. The police are still investigating whether the cause of the gunfight was related to the earlier store smashing incident.
Taiwanese media said that from the video circulating on the Internet, it was speculated that when the gunfight occurred, the two groups may have been in four cars and confronted each other on the street. It was found that a total of five injured people went to the hospital on their own, all of whom were slightly injured and not serious. The police initially learned that the gunfight may have been caused by a dispute over a woman’s job as a prostitute, which triggered a revenge plot between the two groups, and was related to a previous store smashing case in Banten. The police station has now identified the vehicle and specific target involved in the case and launched a manhunt.
