The World Health Organization said on June 26 that it had delivered the first batch of medical aid supplies to the Gaza Strip since March 2 on the 25th.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on social media that the nine trucks carrying the supplies were loaded with basic medical supplies, blood and plasma, etc., and were delivered to the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom crossing point bordering Israel. The blood and plasma were transported to Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis in southern Gaza and stored in refrigerated facilities. They will be distributed to hospitals in the Palestinian area with severe shortages of supplies in the next few days.
Israel imposed a full blockade on the Gaza Strip on March 2. More than two months later, Israel began to allow some food to enter the Gaza Strip, but only now did it allow other aid supplies to enter. The WHO said that most hospitals in the Gaza Strip are completely unable to operate. (PUDIU News)
