China successfully launched the Microcentispace 01 satellite group on Monday (January 13), sending 10 low-orbit satellites into orbit.
According to Xinhua News Agency and Science and Technology Daily, the Jielong-3 carrier rocket, which was developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, ignited and took off at 11 a.m. on Monday in the offshore waters of Haiyang City, Shandong Province. Using the “one rocket, ten satellites” method, the 10 Beidou low-orbit satellite navigation enhancement system networking satellites of the Microcentispace 01 group were successfully sent into the predetermined orbit.
This mission is the first time that the Jielong-3 carrier rocket has carried out a low-inclination orbit launch in the offshore waters of Haiyang, Shandong. It is reported that the implementation of the low-inclination orbit launch mission at this point has good safety in the landing area, can also save the cost of sea voyage, shorten the technical preparation time, improve the economy of the mission, and provide users with more cost-effective launch services.
The Jielong-3 carrier rocket successfully made its first flight on December 9, 2022, and has completed five launches so far, with a launch success rate of 100%. In 2025, the rocket plans to carry out multiple launch missions.
