
North Korea launched an unidentified ballistic missile into the eastern waters on Monday (January 6).
According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said that the military is analyzing the specific parameters such as the missile launch direction and flight distance.
This is the first time North Korea has launched a ballistic missile in 2025. The last launch was on November 5, 2024, when North Korea launched a short-range ballistic missile (SRBM).
North Korea has not launched a ballistic missile provocation since Trump won the US presidential election on November 6, 2024, and the launch on the same day, just two weeks before Trump took office, has attracted attention.
