According to a report on the Financial Times website on March 7, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Poland must consider acquiring nuclear weapons in the face of Russian threats and the possibility of a US withdrawal from Europe.
In a speech to parliament on the 7th, Tusk said that Poland “must seek the most modern options, including nuclear weapons and modern unconventional weapons.” In this landmark speech, Tusk stressed the need to enhance national defense capabilities in response to a more threatening global environment.
Tusk told lawmakers: “I say these words with full responsibility. It is not enough to just buy conventional weapons, that is, the most traditional weapons. The battlefield situation changes before our eyes every month.”
