According to Reuters on March 9, pro-Russian war bloggers said that in the massive offensive to drive Ukrainian soldiers out of the Kursk region, Russian special forces used a gas pipeline to launch a raid on Ukrainian troops, and then the Russian army launched a fierce attack on Suja on the 9th.
According to reports, thousands of Ukrainian soldiers occupied about 1,300 square kilometers of land in Russia’s Kursk region in August last year. Kiev said the move was to gain bargaining chips in future negotiations and force Russia to transfer troops from eastern Ukraine.
Yuri Podolyaka, a pro-Russian military blogger born in Ukraine, said that Russian special forces traveled about 15 kilometers along the inside of a main gas pipeline and then launched a raid on Ukrainian troops from the rear near Suja.
Suja is the site of a major gas transfer and metering station on a gas pipeline. The pipeline used to transport Russian gas to Ukraine’s gas transmission system and then to Europe.
