Meituan’s Low-Altitude Drone Network Takes to the Skies

May 21st, Meituan’s drone delivery service announced the official launch of its “Low-Altitude Air Network” into regular operation, while also opening up its authorization service provider recruitment plan nationwide. Leveraging its newly released self-developed software and hardware products, the company is now opening up its low-altitude delivery capabilities to the industry. According to reports, Meituan’s latest low-altitude logistics solution includes its self-developed Meituan Fourth-Generation Long-Range Drone M-Drone 4L Winch, Meituan Intelligent Docking Airport M-Port 3, and Meituan Drone Cloud Hub M-DaaS 3, among others. Earlier this year, Meituan’s drone delivery service had already begun recruiting authorized service providers nationwide, with the first batch of 10 partners having signed on. By leveraging the local resources of its partners, the drone delivery scenario has expanded beyond food delivery to other high-value scenarios, with service areas set to cover provinces such as Zhejiang, Hunan, and Guangxi, among others.
