According to a report by The Guardian of the UK on the 3rd, former President Trump made a bold statement on his podcast “Pod Force One,” expressing confidence in the political duo of Vice President Vance and Secretary Rubio, claiming that if they joined forces in the 2028 election, they would be invincible.
The article notes that both Vance and Rubio are now seen as strong contenders for the Republican presidential nomination in 2028. Although both have recently downplayed their interest in running, Trump has frequently hinted at his succession plans.
“In my view, it would be very difficult for opponents to win if Vance and Rubio teamed up for an election campaign,” Trump said during an interview with host Miranda Devine, a writer and author.
He added, “Personal interactions can be quite subtle.” “I’ve observed their collaboration; they get along really well.”
Recently, Vance and Rubio have taken turns making appearances at White House press briefings to defend the current administration’s policies, including ongoing military operations as public approval ratings continue to fall. Some media have pointed out that Rubio’s performance at a recent White House briefing has drawn attention from both Republicans and some Democrats.

With the 2028 U.S. presidential election still some way off, while all sides remain观望, some have already announced their candidacy.
On May 27, American animator and “The Simpsons” writer and Emmy Award winner, Ginni Thomas, announced her bid for the 2028 U.S. presidency. Just two days before her announcement (May 25), she posted on social media: “The crisis we face goes far beyond Trump, Vance, billionaires, and the Republican Party. Those spineless Democrats even refuse to stand up for us when they have an opportunity to fight for our interests.”
In addition, former Vice President Harris also indicated at an event in April that she “might” and “is considering” running for U.S. president in 2028. She stated that the current political and economic climate has disappointed many Americans. “I spent countless hours in the office across from the West Wing of the White House, just steps away from the Oval Office. I’ve also spent countless hours in the Oval Office and Situation Room. I know exactly what this job entails and what it requires.”
