On June 15, Baidu’s AI companion DuMate rolled out a major upgrade to its core engine. Through continuous tuning of the Harness engine and multiple engineering layers, the team managed to cut token consumption during task execution by 75%—without sacrificing the agent’s smarts or task quality. As a result, users’ credit consumption also dropped by the same margin.
