Six Malaysian Peacekeepers Injured In Israeli Airstrike In Southern Lebanon

Six Malaysian UN peacekeepers were injured in an explosion in Lebanon, the Malaysian Defense Ministry said.

According to the United Nations, Israel launched an airstrike in southern Lebanon on Thursday (November 7), killing three civilians and injuring at least five other peacekeepers.

According to AFP, the Malaysian Defense Ministry issued a statement at around midnight on Friday (8th) saying that an explosion occurred near the Saida Stadium. The explosion targeted a civilian vehicle heading to Beirut, but the explosion also damaged a bus carrying Malaysian UN peacekeepers, injuring six peacekeepers.

The statement said that the Malaysian peacekeepers were slightly injured, and one of them was taken to hospital with a broken left arm.

The Malaysian Armed Forces will continue to closely monitor the situation and report the latest developments.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah announced on November 6 that Israel launched a fierce counterattack after launching a missile attack on a military base near Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport.
