According to reports on July 9th, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that they have launched 10 ballistic missiles targeting a US command and control center in West Asia and an American airbase in Jordan. They issued a stern warning that any further US aggression would trigger intense attacks on other American bases across the region.
The Revolutionary Guard stated that this missile strike is the second phase of Iran’s response to recent US acts of aggression.
The statement emphasized that the Guard had previously warned that any new American attack would expand the scope of Iran’s retaliation, including hitting other US military bases in the area.
Meanwhile, Reuters reported that Jordan’s airspace detected the incoming Iranian missiles and immediately sounded the alarm.
A Jordanian government spokesperson confirmed that the armed forces have been placed on high alert, ready to respond to any threats against the kingdom’s security.

Tensions between the US and Iran have reignited in recent days. On July 8th, the US Central Command stated that its latest wave of strikes destroyed roughly 90 Iranian military targets. In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed to have hit 85 key US military installations and shot down an MQ-9 drone that attempted to interfere with their operations.
On the same day, former US President Donald Trump threatened that if Iran continues to retaliate, the US would respond with twenty times the force.
