According to a U.S. official speaking on July 14, the American military carried out strikes against Iran for the fourth day in a row, targeting what they described as “new threats” coming from Tehran.

The U.S. Central Command stated that at 3 p.m. Eastern Time on July 14, American forces launched a fresh round of strikes against Iran, aimed at further crippling Iran’s ability to disrupt commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier, the U.S. Central Command said that following President Trump’s instructions, the U.S. military would resume a naval blockade against Iran starting at 4 p.m. Eastern Time on July 14.

In an interview with Fox News on the same day, Trump warned that if Tehran still refuses to come back to the negotiating table, “next week is going to get really bad” for them. He threatened to destroy all of Iran’s power plants and bridges.

“We’re going to hit them hard tomorrow night, and we’re going to hit them hard the night after. Then next week, things are going to get really ugly for them because next week it’s the power plants, next week it’s the bridges. We’ll take out all their power plants, we’ll take out all their bridges—unless they sit down at the table and negotiate,” Trump said.

Trump also threatened that the U.S. strikes on Iran would “continue” until he says “enough.”

This isn’t the first time Trump has threatened to hit Iran’s power plants and bridges, though such threats haven’t been carried out before, according to CNN.

Negotiations between Iranian and U.S. representatives are still ongoing, but the Trump administration says talks can’t move forward as long as Iran continues to restrict passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran claims that U.S. forces bombed the port of Bushehr, home to Iran’s only civilian nuclear power plant, on July 14. In response, Iran struck a U.S. military base inside Jordan.
