A tragic accident occurred at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on December 16, as reported on December 18 by local media. A U.S. Airman lost his life when a piece of heavy equipment he was operating rolled down a slope.
According to a statement from the base on December 17, the deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Cedric Eneluna. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Santa Barbara County Coroner’s Office. The exact cause of death has not yet been determined. No other injuries were reported, and a safety investigation board has been activated.

Eneluna was born in the Philippines and later moved to the United States, joining the U.S. military in March 2024. Vandenberg Space Force Base, located near Lompoc on California’s central coast, is primarily used for satellite launches and missile testing.
