U.S. President Trump said he is in talks with four potential buyers of TikTok’s U.S. business and said a deal could be reached “soon.”

Bloomberg reported that Trump told reporters on Air Force One on Sunday (March 9): “We are dealing with four different buyers, and a lot of people want it.”

However, he did not reveal the names of the four competitors, nor did he express his preference for one side, only saying that “all four are good.”

Trump said last week that if necessary, he was willing to extend the deal deadline beyond April 5, but he thought it was possible to reach a deal next month.

Previously, bipartisan legislation set a January 19 deadline for TikTok’s Chinese parent company ByteDance Ltd. to sell the app, and its U.S. business was temporarily suspended. However, Trump signed an executive order after taking office to extend the deadline by 75 days.

Trump hopes to help facilitate the deal, and he believes the U.S. government should get a 50% stake in the company as a condition.
