Media reports indicate that ByteDance’s Doubao AI assistant has already been integrated into some new Tesla vehicles. Now, multiple sources familiar with the matter have revealed that Alibaba’s Qwen model has likewise entered the deep testing phase within Tesla’s infotainment systems in China, with an official rollout seemingly imminent.
According to these insiders, Qwen has already undergone extensive testing in real Tesla vehicle environments. Plans include capabilities for listening and responding, controlling the car, navigation, and handling various tasks — all on the agenda. Looking ahead, what Qwen can deliver on Tesla’s infotainment screen may go far beyond the conventional definition of a mere “voice assistant.”
As of the time of writing, neither Alibaba Cloud nor Tesla China has issued an official response regarding when Qwen will be formally integrated into Tesla vehicles.
