American Singer Oliver Tree Dies in Helicopter Crash, Was Set for China Tour in October

According to reports, on June 14, two helicopters collided mid-air in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, leaving six people dead.

Sadly, American singer Oliver Tree was on one of the helicopters and confirmed deceased. He was just 32 years old.

The accident happened in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes neighborhood of Rio. One helicopter carried five people, the other only the pilot. All six people died in the crash.

The helicopters fell onto a dealership selling BYD electric vehicles. One of the helicopters exploded, sparking a fire that burned about 20 cars.

Photos from the scene show the helicopters severely damaged, with crushed and burnt cars around them.

Besides Oliver Tree, the other victims included Argentine influencer Gaspar Primm (known online as Gaspi), Lucas Vignale, Lucas Brito Chaves, and pilots Alexandre Souza and Charles Marcilak.

Oliver Tree rose to fame in the short-video era as a true internet-born musician, known for his unique hairstyle. His hits include “Life Goes On,” “Miss You,” and “Alien Boy.”

At the time of the crash, he was in South America for “The World’s First World Tour,” which was set to cover over 30 countries across 7 continents. He just performed in São Paulo on June 6, and his next show was scheduled for July 1 in Lisbon.

According to the tour schedule, Oliver Tree was slated to perform in eight Chinese cities this October: Chengdu (14th), Chongqing (16th), Guangzhou (17th), Shenzhen (18th), Wuhan (21st), Shanghai (23rd), Hangzhou (24th), and Beijing (25th).

On May 4, Oliver Tree posted his tour plan on social media, showing his China tour originally scheduled for this October.
