Tehran, July 8 – Iran’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement early on the 8th, condemning the United States for canceling temporary measures that had suspended sanctions on Iranian oil sales. The ministry called this a blatant violation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the US, and warned that Tehran would take necessary actions in response.

The statement pointed out that the US move openly violates Article 10 of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, and that Washington must bear responsibility for the consequences.

It further noted that just shortly after both sides signed the memorandum, the US announced the cancellation of the general license issued on June 21, which had authorized Iranian oil sales. This once again shows that the US government is untrustworthy. The statement also accused the US of repeatedly violating the memorandum’s clauses, either directly or through Israeli actions in Lebanon.

The statement emphasized that since signing the memorandum on June 18, Iran has been fulfilling its commitments in good faith. However, the US not only broke its promises but also tried to justify its actions with various excuses.

It warned that Iran will take whatever actions it deems necessary to safeguard its interests and national security.
