According to Al Jazeera and RT reports, on August 10, Iranian President Pezeshkian stated that he had just met with Supreme Leader Mojtaba, who is in “good physical condition.”

Pezeshkian made these remarks during an interview with Iran’s state television IRIB.

He noted that during a recent seven-hour meeting, Mojtaba continuously conveyed messages of “unity and cohesion.”

Pezeshkian described the meeting as “very good,” listing livelihood, employment, and housing as the most critical topics. He added, “We also discussed the issues caused by sanctions.”

Regarding Mojtaba’s health, Pezeshkian said, “In terms of health, he is completely healthy.” He added that someone who can sit for seven or eight hours straight discussing complex issues “cannot possibly have any health problems.”

Separately, Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported that on the same day, Mojtaba issued a decree appointing six senior commanders, including Ali Abdollahi as Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces and Kioumars Heydari as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces.

On August 9, Tasnim reported that Pezeshkian met with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei at the “start of the third year of his presidency” for a conversation.

Last week, multiple Israeli media outlets cited reports from Iranian opposition media IranWire claiming that Mojtaba was critically ill and had been rushed to the hospital. Sources claimed that “rumors were circulating at the highest levels of the Iranian government that he (Mojtaba) was in extremely critical condition and could die at any moment,” and “we would not be surprised if we soon learned of his martyrdom.”

However, these claims were never officially confirmed by Iranian authorities.

For months, speculation has swirled around Mojtaba’s health. Since the US-Israel-Iran war broke out and Mojtaba’s father, former Supreme Leader Khamenei, was killed in an airstrike, Mojtaba has not appeared publicly.

Notably, Mojtaba also did not attend his father Khamenei’s funeral.

Sources close to the inner circle had previously revealed that Mojtaba suffered severe injuries to his face and legs during the US-Israeli attack on Iran on February 28. A health ministry official said in May that Mojtaba was injured on the first day of the US-Israeli war against Iran but was not seriously wounded.
