Axios News broke the story on July 29 that Elon Musk is planning to throw serious cash behind the Republican Party for the upcoming midterm elections. It’s a move that’s got everyone talking.

According to Axios, Musk is reviving his “America PAC,” the same political action committee that poured over $260 million into helping Trump win the White House in 2024. While his team isn’t spilling the exact numbers this time around, if it’s anything close to last time, we’re talking about a huge chunk of change.
The midterms are set for this November, with all House seats and a third of the Senate up for grabs. With the party divide already super heated, if the GOP loses control of even one chamber, it could seriously mess with Trump’s agenda for the rest of his term.
As of now, Musk hasn’t commented on the report.
Musk previously served as head of the “Department of Government Efficiency” under Trump. After leaving that role, their relationship went public and sour, with both sides trading sharp words. But Axios notes that over the past year, things have thawed out. By the end of 2025, Musk was already starting to write checks for the GOP again.
