CIA Director Ratcliffe said on Wednesday (March 5) that the United States has suspended intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
AFP reported that Trump and Zelensky had a public falling out at the White House last week, and the United States subsequently announced a suspension of military aid to Ukraine.
Ratcliffe confirmed that intelligence sharing has also been frozen.
Ratcliffe told Fox News: “President Trump questioned whether President Zelensky is truly committed to peace.”
Ratcliffe said the suspension “militarily and intelligence-wise” was temporary and the United States would work side by side with Ukraine again.
The Financial Times of the United Kingdom quoted people familiar with the matter earlier as saying that the United States has stopped sharing intelligence with Ukraine, a move that could seriously hinder the Ukrainian army’s ability to strike the Russian army.
Trump said on Tuesday (4th) that Zelensky told him that Kiev was ready to talk with Moscow and reach a mineral agreement with the United States.
Trump read aloud a letter from Zelensky in his speech to the U.S. Congress on Tuesday night. “The letter reads, ‘Ukraine is ready to sit down at the negotiating table as soon as possible to achieve lasting peace. No one wants peace more than the Ukrainian people.'”
