As of July 1st, Douyin E-commerce has quietly launched its “Portrait Protection Feature,” inviting some key influencers to give it a try. Creators can now submit personal details like their name and photo to keep a real-time list of authorized accounts and shops. The platform’s smart systems use model recognition to verify permissions and block similar content, actively hunting down AI-generated impersonations and stolen materials that could lead to transaction fraud.
According to data from Douyin E-commerce, as of June 2026, the platform has already dealt with over 12,000 fake influencer accounts, removed more than 48,000 counterfeit products, and taken down over 261,000 pieces of infringing content. On top of that, the Portrait Protection Feature has safeguarded over 180 top creators and proactively stopped 92,000 infringing accounts from causing trouble.
