According to reports, after the U.S. launched a new wave of attacks on Iran, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on June 11 that, due to the deteriorating security situation in the region, the Strait of Hormuz is “closed to all vessels” effective immediately. This includes oil tankers and commercial ships. Any vessel attempting to cross the strait will be considered a target.

The U.S. Central Command insists that a large number of commercial ships are still entering and exiting the strait normally, but Iranian officials deny this claim.
