According to an official Telegram channel of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), on July 30th local time, the IRGC issued a statement declaring that, in retaliation for US aggression, it had launched strikes on a US military base in Jordan, “completely destroying” three F-35 fighter jets.
The statement detailed that at dawn that day, the US utilized its military base to conduct an airstrike using bunker-buster bombs on two ordinary residential homes on Iran’s Qeshm Island, killing a family of three—a father, mother, and one child—and injuring two other children.
As a response, the statement said, early that morning, the Revolutionary Guard launched multiple ballistic missiles targeting the F-35 parking apron and maintenance hangars at the US Al Azraq Air Base in Jordan. The attack “completely destroyed” three F-35 jets and inflicted “severe damage” on three others. Several US officers and technical maintenance personnel were also killed in the strike.
“Our region will never tolerate the presence of this brutal army, which slaughters innocent families under the cover of darkness. Our struggle will persist until the last American occupier is driven from Islamic lands,” the statement asserted.
