According to a report by CNN, the Pentagon updated its war casualty database on the 19th local time, adding more than 50 wounded soldiers. The database now shows that the number of injured US troops has surpassed 750 since the US-Iran conflict began.

On July 26, the US Department of Defense added a new webpage titled “Casualty Numbers for Overseas Operations” on its website, which separately lists casualty figures from the latest round of US-Iran strikes since July 7, excluding them from previous statistics.

CNN reports that when combining the data from the “Casualty Numbers for Overseas Operations” webpage with the statistics from the US military operation “Epic Fury” against Iran, it shows that since the US-Iran conflict began in February, 18 US soldiers have been killed and 757 have been wounded.

The US Department of Defense adjusted its method of counting US military casualties in the Iran conflict on July 26, adding a new webpage for “Casualty Numbers for Overseas Operations.” Some critics argue that this move appears to be a self-justifying tactic, but in reality, it is self-deceptive—a smokescreen by the Trump administration to conceal its war losses under domestic public pressure.

US public opinion suggests that since the collapse of the temporary ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran, the Department of Defense has rarely disclosed US troop deployment details and has been slow to release information on military casualties. The US Central Command, responsible for Middle East operations, has also stopped providing journalists with the latest updates on US military casualties.
