On July 23rd, former President Donald Trump posted on his own social media platform, “Truth Social,” saying that starting today, all losses from ships, cargo, or any related items will be paid for using Iranian funds that the U.S. holds and controls.
Trump added, “These losses could be huge, but it’s a fair and reasonable thing to do.”
Last month, there were reports suggesting the U.S. might use frozen Iranian assets to compensate regional allies for war-related damages. Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Gharibabadi, responded by stating that Iran’s assets “are neither America’s war booty nor funds to pay its allies.”

Earlier, Trump mentioned he was “seriously considering” restarting large-scale military operations against Iran. He also warned that if Yemen’s Houthi rebels attack Saudi ships again, the U.S. will hold Iran responsible and impose “major military punishment” on both Iran and the Houthis.
On the same day, Israel’s Defense Minister, Katz, said they are ready for any situation regarding Iran.
In response, Iran stated they are prepared for a U.S. ground invasion and will continue targeting U.S. forces until Washington backs off. Meanwhile, the Houthi group in Yemen said they are “ready to respond” if the U.S. takes military action in their country again.
