US Central Command Launches Major Strikes on Iran: “A Heavy Price to Pay”

On July 7, the US Central Command posted on its social media that its forces have begun “a series of powerful strikes” against Iran. The goal? To make Iran “pay a heavy price” for attacking commercial shipping in international waterways—ships operated by civilian crew members.

The US Central Command says these strikes are a direct response to Iran’s attacks on three merchant vessels trying to navigate the Strait of Hormuz. They called Iran’s actions “dangerous, unjustified,” and a “clear violation” of the ceasefire agreement.

Just a day earlier, Trump once again warned Iran, saying the US would either strike a deal with Tehran or “get the job done.” In response, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary, Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, fired back, saying Trump’s threats are “out of touch with reality.” He insisted Iran won’t bow to intimidation and urged the US to engage in dialogue with respect.
