On July 14, Xiaomi shared the latest update on its humanoid robot working inside an automobile factory. After four months of iterative improvements, the robot’s success rate in a dual-side operation at a self-tapping nut station jumped from 90.2% to 98%—now just one percentage point away from human-level pass rates.
At the same time, the team kicked off two more tasks: sorting center console side covers and folding and recycling material bins. Both have already reached a 90% success rate. Notably, the center console side cover sorting station marks the first time a flexible workpiece has been handled in long-duration, continuous operation inside a car plant.
