According to reports from TASS news agency on the 10th, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic expressed his intention to step down from the presidency in the near future.

Vucic told Belgrade radio, “I plan to resign. I will inform everyone when the time is right, so no one is caught off guard. I’ve already started packing my books at the presidential office—after all, I have quite a lot of them.”

He added that he might resign “in three or four months, or even sooner,” and that he has been thinking about running for the position of Prime Minister every day.

Vucic served as Prime Minister of Serbia starting April 27, 2014. He was elected President in April 2017, assumed office at the end of May that year, and was re-elected in April 2022, taking the oath of office on May 31.
